Live from the Royal Festival Hall. Get a hearty serving of E.O.L. Soulfrito from a band curated by house music icon Louie Vega, playing a savoury blend of jazz, funk, dance and soul music. E.O.L. Soulfrito, made up of a small, talented bunch of musicians, is the condensed version of Vega's Elements Of Life live band project. Elements Of Life has released three albums, won a Grammy award in 2006 - Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for Curtis Mayfield, 'Superfly (Louie Vega E.O.L. Mix)' - and performed the song 'One Dream' for a television audience of 145 million viewers during the 2007 Super Bowl pregame show. E.O.L. Soulfrito is a play on the popular Latin-Caribbean seasoning sofrito, which serves as a nod to Vega's own Puerto Rican heritage. Vega began spinning discs aged 13. By 20 he was DJing house and block parties in the Bronx, his local neighbourhood, and three years later in major clubs in New York City. He is one half of the multiple Grammy-nominated production and remix team Masters at Work, created in 1990. Playing classy house-infused jazz, funk, world and soul music, Vega's new band E.O.L. Soulfrito includes Josh Milan on vocals and keyboards, Anané Vega on vocals, Axel Tosca on keyboards, Gene Perez on bass, Luisito Quintero on drums and Carlos Quintero on percussion.
