Jerry Beharry grew up in a racially diverse, but rough area known as Dorchester, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. The oldest son of Roy and Zennifer Beharry, Jerry also had a half brother, Roy, from previous marriage before his father meet his mother. Both parents were of Caribbean descent, having been born and raised in Trinidad. Raised in a strict Caribbean household, thoughts of things such as acting and voiceover work were unheard of. To immigrant parents who left everything behind to find a better life in America, the only career options for him would be 'white-collar', as his parents wanted to ensure that he never had to suffer for anything they way they had to during their childhood. As such, the budding interests that Jerry had in his youth could never fully be pursued. Jerry's parents relocated the family from their rough neighborhood in 1988, bound for Kissimmee, Florida. It was a different world for the Beharry family, but especially for Jerry, who was finally able show strong academic promise, which was something the he couldn't prioritize growing up with the violence and racism he had to deal with in Dorchester. He would go on to pursue a Pre-Med course load, majoring in both Biology and Psychology, and after 4 years, earned both degrees in 1999. It was at this time that he realized that his medical pursuits were not truly his desire, but rather that of his family, and he then set out on a path to find a way to make a living until he could figure out what he wanted to do. After graduation, Jerry would spend a brief stint homeless as he lived out of his car, but due to his immense pride, he refused to let any family or friends know of his situation. During that time, he managed to land a job as a Customer Service Representative for a major telecommunications company. During this time, he continued to live in his car, spending his nights in a remote corner of the parking lot. As an employee benefit, he was able to use the company's gym facilities for workouts and showers. Eventually, he saved enough money to get an apartment, and start from scratch. That job later lead to a full-blown IT career, and in 2003, Jerry married his then fiancee, Neha. Together, they had 2 children: a son, Jayan in 2006, and a daughter, Avni, in 2010. Now with a family and financial obligations (as well as a forced company relocation to Atlanta, Georgia) any chance of a career in the entertainment industry seemed a lost cause, especially in a rough economy in 2009. Any efforts to pursue such dreams had seemingly faded. It wasn't until the passing of his father in July of 2021, the Jerry's spark to pursue his dream was re-kindled. Thoughts of his own mortality reinvigorated his desires to pursue his dream, realizing that he was now in his mid-40's, and running out of time to make a serious effort. After his father's funeral in Florida in the summer of 2021, Jerry returned home to Atlanta, and started to take steps that he had long avoided. Pushing all self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty aside, he began using some of his Voiceover contacts (an side-hustle that he had been dabbling in for a few years), and took the next step toward landing on-screen gigs. To his surprise, the offers began to come in, during the Fall of 2021. Starting in 2022, Jerry landed 5 on-screen roles. They covered a number of production companies, including Marvel Studios, Netflix, Disney, The CW, Apple Original Movies, Warner Brothers/Warner Media, and The Discovery Channel/Discovery+, to name a few. With determination, a sharp wit, and an athletic background (including football, baseball, and martial arts), Jerry continues to build relationships across the industry, in hopes of becoming a more mainstream and featured player in the very near future.
