India Bailey (born 7 October 2005) is an Australian actress. She started her career in 2018 with TV commercials and modeling on runways. In 2022 she made her television debut as a guest star in the ABC TV Series, Turn Up The Volume. India has studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts and has completed Certificate III in Acting (Screen) at the Australian College of Dramatic Arts. India was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, the youngest child of Chita and Oliver Pacheco. Her mother, Chita is English and Dutch, and her father, Oliver is Filipino and Spanish. She has an older brother, Felix (stage name CHECKO) who is an artist and an audio engineer for fellow artists. Inspired by the Netflix TV series Stanger Things, India started going to acting classes and fell in love with the craft. Soon after, she was gaining experience in TV commercials and was modeling in Kidz Fashion Week. At 15 years old she was interviewed for Terri Talks Kidz in the Biz podcast where she talked about her start in acting and her passion for protecting the environment which she shares on her YouTube channel. When the industry was halted by Covid-19, India took to online classes and honed her craft while she experienced the world's longest lock-down in Melbourne. After 2 years of on-and-off lock-downs, she got back to work by featuring in short films, ACDA's 'Lock & Key' and St. Mary's College 'Arborescent'. While continuing her work in TV commercials she was also interviewed for a Youth Pandemic Project Documentary by Stork Films where she talked about her experience during the pandemic and how it has affected her. In 2022 she landed a guest star role in ABC TV Series Turn Up The Volume. While her character was only supposed to be on the show for one episode, the directors loved her performance as 'Claudia' and "had to get her back". Her character was then written back into the script and featured in a second episode. She signed with Jackie O Talent Agency in early 2023 and continues her studies with ACDA Certificate III in Acting (Screen) and with ATA Acting Studio. She resides in Melbourne, Australia.
