Originally from Fortaleza, Ceará in Brazil, Dayandra immigrated to the United States as a child with her parents and older brothers. She grew up studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but found her true calling after she performed for the first time. Raised in a small Midwestern town in Indiana, her love for acting blossomed as a way for her to use her voice. She became a passionate advocate for equality and representation in the arts. In a world so filled with hate, her guiding principle as an artist is to cultivate love, empathy, and understanding through the stories that she helps bring to life. She received her BFA in Theatre Performance, interned at Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed the Film and Television Intensive with the Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles. She toured throughout New York with The Rev Theatre Company and won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama/Dramedy in Lime Arts Production's 20-by-20 Fringe Festival. She is based out of Los Angeles and is studying under the Robert D'Avanzo Acting Studio. She aims to continue to break barriers, spread positivity, and connect various communities through her work. When not performing, you can find her painting, making silly voices, reading fantasy novels, and engaging in a fierce discussion about superheroes.
