Ben deHoedt is an Australian film maker, musician and social worker based in Melbourne. He writes and releases music under his own name and with his band The American Public. Since 2017, Ben has been working on a documentary about rock group The Police. Made with the participation of Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, with the intention of involving all three band members for a balanced narrative, All Noises by The Police is a visually arresting portrait of the band scored with their music and told in their own words through archival and contemporary interviews. A working cut has been described by film maker Alex Winter ("Zappa") as "a highly entertaining, detail-rich plunge into a seminal band". Ben is also working on Disappear Here, a documentary about Australian 90's alternative group Glide, songwriter William Arthur and the shifting sands of the Australian music scene of the 1990's. Ben is writer, director and editor of both features.
