Joseph Cutler, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. He started acting at the JCC and JCC Day Camp as supporting roles in local productions of "Bye, Bye Birdie", "Batman", "Grease", and as Jacob in "Joseph and the Technicolored Dreamcoat". He officially joined the (Scranton) PA Repertoire Theater, directed by Phoebe Sharpe and Linda Eisen as Herschel in an adaptation of the book "The Adventures of Hershel of Ostropol", and went on to support as Arty in Neil Simon's "Lost in Yonkers", and Billy Ray in Ernest Thompson's "On Golden Pond". He was a supporting player in the travelling production of Richard Rashke's "Dear Esther", directed by Linda Eisen. In high school he was part of the Black Box Theater of Wyoming Seminary, advised by English Teacher and Director of Drama Jason Sherry. After one semester at Bard College, Joseph transferred to University of Maryland, College Park, to pursue a degree in Agricultural Science and German. He starred in stage adaptations of Igor "Young Frankenstein", and a supporting role in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". He was radio host at WMUC 88.1 FM College Park for all four years with shows "homeopathic hip-hop", "the grown and sexy", "hateration in the dancerie", and "no soup, no sleep". In 2010, he moved to Berlin and finished his doctoral degree in Agricultural Science, where he started his documentary project @berlin_detective, which is ongoing. In 2020, Joseph moved to New York City, and began numerous background roles during COVID for various television productions for major networks (FBI, The Foods that Built America, Westworld, Law and Order: Organized Crime, Bupkis, American Horror Story). In 2023, he received a certificate from NYU for the course "Writing for the Screen". In 2023, he enrolled in scene study at The Barrow Group, NYC. This year he has also been working on two short films (one in post production) as Elijah in JP Luce's "Deathday" as the lead role of a short film, and another in preproduction (stay tuned).
