Chris Powell

I'm a Peruvian-American CG visual development artist and filmmaker with a deep-rooted passion for animation. My journey started in Houston, TX, where I spent my formative years, but my artistic aspirations knew no bounds. From a young age, I grew up in many countries overseas, fueling my creative spirit. Those experiences became the crucible where my artistic talents were honed. My mission in life is to demonstrate the universal magic of animation. I firmly believe that animation transcends cultural boundaries and is not limited to being merely a children's genre. It's about crafting immersive worlds and sharing collective dreams through the captivating medium of CG animation. My career has taken me to various animation and game companies, both in-house and remotely, including DreamWorks Animation TV, Creative Circle, Pixel Zoo Animation, Engine House LLC, and numerous collaborations with acclaimed animation directors. I've had the privilege of collaborating with the esteemed Oscar-winning animation director, Everett Downing, on an exciting urban fantasy-adventure series pitch titled THE BOOK OF MOJO, which is in development. And as of now, I'm working remotely on the wholly original show CURSES! with DreamWorks Animation TV. One of my proudest achievements is the self-production of my CG animated film, NOVALIS. It has graced the screens of multiple film festivals worldwide and even claimed the title of BEST ANIMATED FILM at the Oregon Independent Film Festival. Notably, it was in competition with Taiko Studios' ONE SMALL STEP, an experience that added to the richness of my creative journey.
