Tim Wapshott is a freelance writer and journalist based in London. He has worked for most of the country's national newspapers, from The Sun to The Sunday Telegraph, his weekly columns appearing in The Times, The Guardian and The Independent. He wrote the best-selling Mercury and Me, Jim Hutton's memoir of his life with partner Freddie Mercury until his untimely death in 1991. He has devised and hosted popular interview/dinner series in London's West End, most recently 'The Delaunay Presents...An Audience With' which runs monthly at The Delaunay restaurant (sister restaurant to The Wolseley). Following the Zeebrugge disaster he produced Ferry Aid at The London Palladium, and the accompanying video, Let It Be All Right on the Night (1987). He has also worked as a PR, marketing and fund-raising consultant on several projects, including the £58m training facilities at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in West London, which opened in 2017.
