Martin Grof

Martin Grof was born on April 17, 1982 Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. In 1998 he shot his first student film Illusions at High School in Vienna, Austria, which was also screened at a local movie theater. While studying at the High School, he already got a job in the national Slovak TV, STV, and became a professional cameraman at 20 years old. He has gone directing music videos for popular artists in Czech and Slovak Republic, such as Iveta Bartosova, which gained him success and got an offer to direct live television show at STV at the age of 24. He is best known for his first feature film Excursion (2018) which was written and produced within only 7 months and immediately won the Grand Jury & Audience award at the film festival in PA, USA at the day of its world premiere. Beside that Grof gained for the thriller many other awards and nominations including best director, best picture and best producer. Grof's second feature, Sensation is a sci-fi mystery thriller starring Eugene Simon (Game of Thrones), Emily Wyatt (Rise of the Footsoldier 4: Marbella). It also features Bethan Wright (Disney's The Lodge) and Alex Reid. The film is due for a spring 2021 release. Grof has his own production company, GROFilm.
