Michael Burns Jr is an LA based actor known for his borderline insane diligence while handling any role. Being a former athlete, he treats acting like a sport, believing mind and body must be in balance. Though acting is his passion, just being a human being is very important to him. Always willing to embrace the new, he often finds himself in a variety of different fields of study including Martial Arts, singing, Archery, sewing, many styles of dance, drawing, radio-dramas and voice overs. His Radio-Drama: "A Dark Night in Arkham" went on to win a National BEA award as well as many honorable mentions. Michael started acting his sophomore year of college, when his English professor encouraged him to get involved in theatre. After auditioning, he was cast in a supporting role in the University of Nebraska at Omaha's production of "Dracula." He fell in love with acting. When the show closed, the enchanted young man changed his major to theatre the next day. During his time studying in college, Michael says he was fortunate enough to play a wide variety of roles that truly tested him as an actor. Some of these characters include, Marquis de Sade (Marat/Sade), Charles Sturman (The Clearing), and Hanschen Rilow (Spring Awakening). Michael graduated magna cum laude, as well as receiving three "Outstanding Graduating Student Awards" from the Theatre Department, College of Communications Fine Arts and Media, and the Dean's Award. After College, Michael started to focus less on theatre to pursue his career in film acting. In the summer of 2018, he landed his first lead role in Skull Duggery Theatre's Film. "Level up" where he played Ried, a basketball coach/butcher who unknowingly gets sucked into a nuclear conspiracy.
