Indira Iman is an Indonesian film director and writer based in Medan, Indonesia. She earned her bachelor's degree at Jakarta Institute of Arts' Faculty of Film and Television, and is an alumna of Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) Fantastic Film School. Most recently, her student short horror 'Rong' won Air Canada Best Short Film Award at the 24th Toronto Reel Asian, Best Fantastic Women Short at the 11th Cinefantasy film festival Sao Paulo, and is an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival: Asia. It has been screened in some of the world's top genre film festivals. In 2019, her filmography was screened as a part of Gudskul Open House annual art exhibition. Her works has continually explore sociopolitical issues in Indonesian society, with the horror genre being her vehicle and with traditional Indonesian cultures and beliefs adding fantastic elements to them.
