Alicia Nunn is a writer, producer, director and author of Amazon Bestseller Ashira's World, contributor for Reflection Magazine, Face 2 Face Africa, Chicago Tribune and Huffington Post, and founder and CEO of Heart2Heart LLC Media Group. Nunn has been recognized as an Athena Award and Leaders as Heroes finalist for her work as a fierce advocate for justice which is an underlying theme of her writing. "I am a modern-day griot, preserving the great legacy of African descendant people. Reconnecting the African diaspora in the United States, Caribbean and Europe to our rich history and culture in the Motherland. Restoring our self-esteem, identity and belonging, while entertaining and educating. Multiple life changing events led me to a path I abandoned as a teen. The self-discovery awakened me to my roots in Africa and to the stories of powerful black women who were erased from history during the rise of the Roman empire. I was fascinated because I had no knowledge of these women whose influence is seen and heard around the world, but no one knows who they were. One is called the Queen of Heaven in the Bible, Jeremiah 44:17. The protagonist of my latest book, Ashira's World is her descendant. I have directed and produced several short films, including 'Am I Pretty?"
