Melissa Wahe was born in the front seat of a pickup truck in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was raised in the rolling hills of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She wanted a better understanding of the human condition and how to help people become the authors of their own destinies so she received her BA in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. After working several years in the field, she then pursued and completed her Master's Degree in Social Work from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Melissa has the openness and relate-ability of Sarah Baker meets the quick-witted humor of Kate McKinnon with the fierce country girl sensuality of Patricia Arquette. She is a lovable, offbeat, character actress who plays emotionally complex roles that range from best friend to artist to everyday hero. Melissa knows something about being inspired to be her own hero as she used television as her inspiration to learn how to walk again. In 2013, after enduring several back surgeries and a staph infection in her spinal cord, she lost the feeling and use of her left leg from her mid-thigh down. Melissa was at the end of her rope. She was in constant pain and was feeling quite hopeless. Knowing this, her husband, Justin, knew he had to act. He suggested that they watch an episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" knowing that it would potentially appeal to and entertain her. She had no interest but placated him. He could not have possibly known what he was about to unlock in Melissa's world. He carried her to the living room where they watched the episode "Symbiosis". It completely appealed to her social work sensibilities and her inner space explorer. She had to see more. Justin suggested that she get up from the couch and walk around the coffee table in between episodes. From there, her goals took shape. If she wanted to keep watching this incredible series, she was going to have to start walking to the living room to see it. Finally, in 2014, at the Denver Comic Con, Melissa got to meet most of the cast of "Star Trek: TNG". That's when she decided to go back to the acting she had left behind in college and set her eyes on her new goals: inspiring everyone through her writing, acting, and producing, to be their own everyday hero. Watch for Melissa in the upcoming TV series, Wasted, from the writers of I-Zombie.
