Owen Dove (1912-1987) Owen was born in Kent and was a sometime performance artist, poet & story teller. He appeared as an extra in the 1939 Korda film "Q-Planes" and possibly some other background roles at this time. Half a century later Owen met film-maker Kaprice Kea who cast him as the Soothsayer in his film "Virtues of Knature" (1987). This was Owen's first and only speaking part and his scene was one of the most memorable moments of the film. Owen was a delightful free spirit who made an impression on those he met, including the author who subsequently cast him as "God" in a never produced film. Unfortunately in the year following filming of "Virtues of Knature", Owen, who had "lived rough" for many years saw his health sharply decline. In and out of hospital throughout Spring of 1987, Owen passed away peacefully on June 3rd 1987 - before having a chance to see the completed "Virtues". Those of us who knew him still have a place in our hearts for him.
