Amiel K. Holland-Briggs, the oldest of three children, was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is the son of Phyllis M. Holland, and Dennis W. Briggs, both are retired Military service members. His parents gave him the name, Amiel, which means "God of my people" in Hebrew. After graduating high school, Amiel followed his parents leadership by serving in the Military. He caught the acting bug while doing service PSA's in the Navy. After finishing his service, he decided to fulfill his love for the arts. He successfully enrolled into the New York Film Academy (Los Angeles) and The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute to further understand his direction. Educating himself in the craft, he continued to pursue his passion through achieving leading roles in short film projects. His professional career started by doing stand-in projects. First standing in for Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker in "The Great Debaters." He then shortly after stood in for Samuel Jackson, Jackie long, and Affion Crocket in "Soul Men." Amiel draws his inspiration from the shows in the 90's that heavily crafted his interest. "In Living Color," "The Martin Lawrence Show," and many others helped him understand that there was indeed room for men of color in the industry. Amiel's desire to excel in the entertainment industry keeps him focused and driven towards the next challenge.
