Miguel Babo

Graduated in Chemical Engineering by Coimbra's University with several post graduated courses in Management and marketing in Vaasa's University, philosophy in Coimbra, actually in doctorate studies in Aveiro's University, started is artistic career, still in university, in theater and writing. With several edited tale, romance and children's books, started a career as an actor and director in theater and cinema, still in the 20th century. Beyond Memory is the first direction in a feature movie after several directing works in shortcuts and documentaries. In 2018 placed a very recognized and multidisciplinary play about Fernando Pessoa premiered in Teatro do Bairro in Lisboa and in 2020 an other recognized play, written and directed by him, called "Woman". Seen as a neo-realist writer, in cinema, it is not so notorious this influence, but you can see the Português second modernism in his work. The human person it is always in the center of all narrative. We can identify a personal style in all Miguel Babo's work, with a simultaneous naive sensitivity and a peculiar sense of humor contrasting with a permanent provocative way. This combined features are obvious in the dramatologia of is work but also in the photography and chosen plans of his cinematographic. The contradiction of the irreverence, always challenging the system, and the fact of being deeply influenced by the classics. In "Beyond Memory", is first feature movie, has won the best argument in Top Indie Film Awards in 2019 and Best Fiction Feature Film in Aphrodite Film Awards in 2019.
