According to AllMusic, Jonathan Hay grew up listening to his mother play piano, while experimenting with hip-hop in high school. Hay got his start in the music business as a publicist, where he developed a reputation for his bold and controversial approach to marketing and publicity. Hay has worked with Death Row Records, Sony Music, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Ariel Winter, Wiz Khalifa, Michael Jackson, Yung Bleu and many other celebrities. Hay met Mike Smith and Ranna Royce (from Bizzy Bone fame) and they launched a record label and became involved in BET's television show 'One Shot' starring Sway Calloway, DJ Khaled, T.I., and RZA. Hay has produced three consecutive #1 Billboard Jazz albums most notably, 'Follow the Leader', his collaboration with Eric B. & Rakim. Forbes reported throughout an 18 month span (2017-2019), Hay's productions hit more than 30 different Billboard charts, topping numerous categories from Jazz, Christian, Hip-Hop and "Heatseekers." In 2020, Hay partnered up with Sarah Rush to form a House and Techno label in London, England called 'R.U.S.H Music'. JT Barnett, a producer and director who helped create 'Joe Exotic - The Tiger King' is working with Hay on the new television documentary 'House Invasion'.
