Christina DiPasquale is best known for managing the successful communications campaign to free Chelsea Manning, trans activist and whistleblower, from prison by presidential commutation. In the documentary XY Chelsea (2019), Christina is shown preparing Manning for her New York Times Magazine and ABC interview. She has led social impact campaigns for the Academy Award-nominated documentary "Dirty Wars," "Unmanned" by Brave New Films, and the mockumentary "The Internet Must Go." As the founder of Balestra Media, a full-service communications firm exclusively serving progressive movement leaders, Christina has executive produced several short documentaries for organizations developing and supporting community alternatives to incarceration across the US. (2020) Christina is writing, producing and directing a feature-length documentary about guerrilla media makers in the 1970s, with a focus on independent producers of color who created and sustained groundbreaking works by, for and about their communities on national television.
