James Meyer

James Meyer began his career in Chicago in 1982 as a storyboard artist and later became an Art Director with Leo Burnett producing national TV commercials for Kellogg's cereals. James later worked with Backer, Spielvogel & Bates Worldwide as a Senior Art Director producing more than 30 TV commercials for Wendy's Int'l and Kobacker Shoes. Since 1991, James has traveled to 76 countries, making documentaries and films honoring the people and cultures in these places. In 2006 James and his wife Sara Meyer founded GemStone Media, an international production company that specializes in producing positive, uplifting stories. Writing and directing the movie "The Kingdom" in the lush vineyards of Kosovo and "The Traveler" in the stunning Pamir mountains of Tajikistan have been career highlights.
