Marcelo Cássio is a Musical Producer, Audio Engineer, and Audiovisual Director. He is a Studio Production specialist by Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), and has an AVID certification in Pro Tools. He has a major in music by Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (Univali) and an associate degree in Data Processing. He is also a Systems Analyst and a Journalist (DRT/SP 46219.6949/05-81). Marcelo is a voting member of The Recording Academy, organization responsible for the Latin Grammys, and a member of the AES (Audio Engineering Society). He is a musician since 1987, a musical producer and specialist in technology applied to music since 1994, and he works as an audio engineer in studios and live presentations. In 2017, his studio, Café Maestro, was awarded the Prêmio Profissionais da Música in the category Best Recording and Mixing Studio in Brazil. Besides being a voting producer for the Latin Grammys, he has acted as a judge in national contests and award ceremonies, such as the Festival da Canção in Balneário Camboriú, the Prêmio da Música Catarinense, and the Concurso de Marchinhas de Balneário Piçarras. He also taught the course "Technology applied to music" for 5 years in Conservatório de Música Popular Carlinhos Nehues (Itajaí/SC). Over the last years, he has directed, produced, and released over 30 titles including CDs, DVDs, audiovisual works, and digital albums of regional artists, and even of renowned artists in Brazilian music, such as Yamandu Costa, Alessandro Penezzi, Nailor Proveta, Jota Moraes, and others, of which 2 albums received an award in Prêmio da Música Catarinense and 4 were included on the top-100 list "100 Melhores da Música Brasileira". He has produced soundtracks for films, TV series, and publicity works. He has produced and directed 4 TV shows ("Radikaos", aired for 4 years on Band Sports, and the series "Palco SC", "De show a show com Yamandu Costa", and "Origens com Jota Moraes", aired on Music Box Brazil). He owns the studio and production company Café Maestro, in Itajaí/SC, where he records, produces, and tours with musicians from Santa Catarina. In 2015, he created and produced the series "Palco SC", which received a second season in 2018. He is the creator of "Projeto Na Vera", which facilitates quality audiovisual productions by an accessible cost for musicians of different areas. In 2018, he created and produced the artistic-social project "Via Música", which gave a voice and an opportunity to children in need, and included the bonus track "Não faz mal para o Brasil", produced alongside with the percussion group Grupo de Percussão de Itajaí, composed by a group of autistic children, and which became the subject of a mini-doc. He has worked in recordings/productions of big names such as: Yamandu Costa, Orquestra Municipal de São Paulo, Maria Rita, Alexandre Pires, Cama de Gato, Alegre Corrêa, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Richard Galliano, Jorge Vercillo and Orquestra de Itajaí, Alessandro Penezzi, Bruno Moritz, Nailor Proveta, Orquestra de Violão 6/8, Camerata Florianópolis, Luiz Mantovani and Michel de Paula, Grupo Samburá, Giana Cervi, Giovanni Sagaz, Ozeias Rodrigues, Gandhi Martinez, Ricardo Pauletti, Casa de Orates, Tarrafa Elétrica, and several jazz, classical and pop musicians. In 2015, he co-produced the 1st Festival de Música in Balneário Camboriú. He has also worked as stage director, executive producer, and technical producer in presentations, workshops, and courses by artists and music professors renowned worldwide, such as Hamilton de Holanda, Ivan Lins, Diogo Nogueira, Ordinarius, Sandra de Sá, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Beto Lopes, Caito Marcondes, Guinga, João Castilho, Jorge Vercillo, Rosa Passos, Trio Corrente, among others. In 2018, he produced soundtracks for the film "Cuida de mim" and the TV series "A Cara do Futuro" and "Animazoo". In 2019, he worked on the musical direction and produced soundtracks for the documentary "Cidades Afetivas" and the series "Meu Pedaço de Brasil".
