Alexander Popov

Born in Murmansk, Alexander grew up in Moscow acting in theater at a young age. He later switched his focus to film directing and photography. He moved to the United States of America to pursue filmmaking education, where he studied under the mentorship of the acclaimed Iranian director Alireza Khatami. He competed in several international film festivals and, years later, returned to his homeland to continue exploring personal stories about alienation, duality and idiosyncratic behavior. However, Russia's political regime forced him to move abroad once again.
