Dion Michelle Brown was born on July 13. She grew up in Norwalk, California. She studied drama and voice in high school and fell in love with the craft. She joined a band and hit the road at the age of 21, singing lead for Top 40 bands. After 10 years of touring, she decided to try her hand at studio work. She began writing lyrics and collaborating with Greg Radford of the Kay Gees. She also worked with Amir Bayyan of Kool and the Gang on background vocal arrangements. She went to college and learned audio engineering from Grammy Award winner Ken Johnson. This eventually led to her producing her own songs. Although Dion loved music, she wasn't fully satisfied with just one area of entertainment. She had an early interest in acting for film and television. She had a small part, as "Pharmacy Patron", in a student film by Alex Dickerson called "Homocide". While attending Film and Television Production classes, she met award winning Screenwriter/Director Isaac Saldana. She auditioned and was cast in her first film, his spiritual thriller "I Will Fear No Evil" as Alvah.
