Headquartered at Taylor Sheridan's Bosque Ranch, a western oasis in Weatherford, Texas, is Matt Mills. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, Matt began riding horses early. He enjoyed a successful career as a youth rider, earning multiple championships throughout California in various disciplines, including western pleasure, horsemanship, and trail. In 1996 he switched his focus to reining and established his own training operation in Scottsdale, Arizona, a few years later. He spent most of his career training and competing for high-level performance horses while coaching several successful non-pro and youth riders to victory. He has since moved to the heart of Texas to embrace the cowboy way of life fully. One of his most memorable accomplishments was winning the 2006 United States Equestrian Team (USET) Open Reining Championship on Easy Otie Whiz in Lexington, Kentucky. With a career-high score, he qualified to be a member of Team USA, which proudly brought home the gold medal from the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Aachen, Germany. Matt is consistently ranked on the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Top Twenty Professionals Riders list, has NRHA lifetime earnings of over $1,000,000.00, and continues to produce and sell winning stock from the ground up. Matt has been in demand to provide horsemanship clinics internationally and expert consulting in equestrian-related film production. He most recently appeared as the main character in season 1 of Paramount Pictures, The Last Cowboy.
