David Wayne Mallory was born on September 5, 1958 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Donald Roy Mallory and Nellie Elizabeth (Lyons) Mallory. His first role was in an elementary school production of "The Nutcracker". As the only sixth-grade boy in the production (the next oldest boy was in the fourth grade!), he got the lead role. Most of Mallory's theatrical experience to date has been on stage, with roles in amateur productions including "Damn Yankees", "Camelot", "The Secret Garden", "The Hiding Place", and "The Praying Man". He has also filled many roles in church drama, including playing Jesus for several seasons of the Fee Fee Baptist Church Easter Pageant. His first film role was as an undead cowboy in "Shakespeare's Mummy".
