Bala Santosh Majji

Bala Santosh Majji is a cinematographer who works in the United States and India. Bala is fascinated by the impact the visual arts can have on an audience. He works closely with directors and takes a deeply personal approach to filmmaking, carefully crafting the film's visual language to leave a lasting impact on the viewer. He hopes to craft lasting visuals and important stories because he believes that cinema is the most influential art form of our day and carries the possibility of conveying a strong message. Anything is possible through visual language. His work brought him to the United States to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he specialized in cinematography. He worked on the feature film The Glorias, assisting director of photography Rodrigo Prieto, A.S.C, A.M.C. Bala specializes in narrative films, commercials, and music videos, and his work has been highly acclaimed. He has received awards for Foreign Dream, which directed and shot, and for his cinematography in The Human Condition, Polar Opposites, and Daily Dose. Bala continues to work in both the United States and India and is a Associate member of the Society of Camera Operators. Bala works as a cinematographer because he wants his passion and his profession to be united, and he really enjoys what he does. The creative process sustains him through the long hours on set and he feels at home with a camera in hand.
