Portia Garnsey

Portia Garnsey was born on April 8, 2006 in Riverside California. Her mother is from the Philippines and her father is retired from the US Army Special Forces. Since her dad was stationed in Okinawa,Japan at the time of her birth, Portia and her mom moved there as soon as Portia was old enough to travel. Portia resided in Okinawa until she the age of three. While she in Okinawa, Portia traveled to the Philippines and Thailand for vacation and learned how to speak Tagalog. Shortly after that, Portia and her family moved to Hawaii, where she attended elementary school in the town of Mililani from grades K-4. At age 9, Portia moved to Okinawa a second time when her dad retired in 2016. This was very exciting for Portia because she did not remember much from her first trip to Okinawa when she was little. Even though Portia was sad to leave Hawaii, she was also excited about the chance to learn a new culture and language. Shortly after returning to Okinawa, Portia enrolled in the Da Vinci Academy International School to complete her fourth grade. She also got her dog Tupa from a pet store near their house. Tupa is a white and brown Shih Tzu and still lives with Portia today. For 5th grade, Portia attended Okinawa Christian School International (OCSI), where she first became interested in the theater after starring in a Christmas play. While attending OCSI, Portia studied Japanese and made a lot of wonderful friends in Okinawa. In 2017, Portia and her family moved to California to give Portia a better opportunity to develop her acting and pursue her dream of performing on stage and on camera. After living with relatives for a couple of months, the family moved to Chino Hills, where Portia took acting classes and performed in several shows with the Chino Children's Community Theater. In 2019, Portia signed with Doss Talent management and KMR talent agency. In June 2019, Portia moved to Santa Clarita, CA. Portia feels blessed to have the opportunity to pursue a career in acting. She is thankful to have such a wonderful management team to guide and assist her in attaining her goal of being the best actress that she can be! Portia constantly strives to improve her acting and stage skills by enrolling in many acting classes and seminars. Her long term goals are to obtain a degree in theater or performing arts and to have a long and fruitful acting career.
