Due to the civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Esther's family immigrated to Canada before she was born. Two years after the immigration, Esther was brought into the world in the French speaking city of Gatineau, Québec. At the age of five her family moved to the Anglophone city of Calgary, Alberta. Growing up in low income housing, she was regularly exposed to the darker side of life causing her to run to television as her only escape. Television taught her English and story expanded her universe. Story gave her new options by growing her sense of what's possible. At the age of 15, she was cast in the production of Beauty and the Beast by a local theatre. The experience changed her life and it became undeniable that acting was her passion. She knew she was meant to be a storyteller. Esther felt the need to be the same escape for the youth growing up in low income housing. Esther continues her studies at Deb Podowski Acting Studio and is excited in her emergence in the Canadian market.
