Declan Billington

Declan is a Photographer, Videographer & Editor based in North West England. Throughout his life he has been involved in a broad range of creative endeavours both on stage as well as in front of / behind the camera. A keen stage actor throughout his teenage years and early 20's; Declan had the privilege of working with 'Premier Productions' performing across the North and South of Ireland. In 2016 Declan toured and performed in Martin McDonagh's "The Cripple of Inishmaan" and was invited to perform in the 2nd Annual 'Martin McDonagh Festival' in the city of Perm, Russia where he and his fellow cast members won best ensemble cast. In 2018 Declan toured with Ron Hutchinson's "The Rat in the Skull" both in the North and South of Ireland as well as performances in St George's Hall in Liverpool. Declan spent a combined total of 9 months over 2 years (2018/2019) working for the Gateway Region YMCA as a Digital Arts Director responsible for the creation and distribution of marketing materials, 3,000 photos and 3 videos per week for the duration of the 10 week summer periods. Declan also worked for BEAM Creative Network as a Drama Facilitator from 2016-2020, developing and delivering drama led workshops across schools in Northern Ireland in partnership with the PSNI, Belfast City Council and the National Lottery. While at BEAM Declan developed and delivered 'Confidence Building' and 'Short Film Production' workshops to young adults with special needs and learning difficulties. He has also worked with Extras NI on projects such as 20th Century Fox's "The Keeper" as well as co-writing / co-directing the 'Take 5' initiative launch video "Heads Up" raising awareness on identifying poor mental health among school students and where they can seek help. Declan completed his HND with Distinction in 'Creative Production for Film and TV' at Belfast Met's Film & TV School. He is currently in his 2nd year at the Liverpool Screen School studying Media Production as well as working as a freelance Editor/Videographer for "Mocha Film & TV". In 2020 Declan completed his trainee Directorship with 'Cinemagic Screen Skills' training under Director Keith O'Grady on the short film "Bitter Pills and Sunflowers" He is a keen runner, swimmer and surfer and previously held an RNLI Pool Lifeguard Qualification and YMCA Lake Lifeguard Qualification. In 2018 he represented the YMCA of the Ozarks lake lifeguard swim Team winning 2 trophies and placing second in a 3rd competition. In his spare time he is an avid mountaineer and holds a Gold and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
