Rhetta Wiley is an actor best known for her work on the college soap operas General College and Arts & Sciences. Born in 1969 and raised in New York, Rhetta rubbed elbows with such luminaries as her neighbors Austin Pendleton, Charlotte Rae, and Oscar the Grouch. Although Rhetta enjoyed as much critical acclaim as one might expect from a college soap opera, she abandoned show business for the glitz and glamour of Ancient Near Eastern Studies in Academe. During rehearsal for Murder in the Cathedral (1985) at Nightingale-Bamford School, directorial consultant Andre Gregory once reflected to Rhetta that when he was first starting out as an actor, he promised himself that if he did not "make it" by the time he was 30, he would become a lawyer or a Rabbi. Taking this advice to heart, Rhetta was ordained to the Episcopal Priesthood in 2012 and now serves as Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, MD. She lives in Baltimore with her wife Mary Sykes and their two cats Kinky and Schmutz.
