Rebecca Ellen Baker-Cowling was born in Kingston, London, to a British mother, Christine Baker, and a British French father, Didier Cowling. She is of English, French Jewish, and Irish heritage. She attended Esher Church School until the age of 5 before moving to Zürich, Switzerland, where she was educated at Zurich International School until the age of 18. Rebecca holds a BA in Theatre & Performance from the University of Leeds, an MA in Acting from Rose Bruford College, and was a member of the National Youth Theatre for 7 years. She began her career on the stage, appearing in National Theatre's 'The Network' (2017), starring Bryan Cranston and Michelle Dockery, and Secret Cinema's 'Romeo + Juliet' (2018), and in 2019, went on to write, direct and star in 'Dawn of the Transmaton'. In 2021, she starred in psychological thriller short 'Plant', Deadpan Sketch's comedy web series 'Flatmate Troubles', and appeared in an episode of Aoxomedia's dystopian fantasy TV series 'The Butterfly Beat'. In 2022, she starred in four short films: historical drama 'Moishe', Western 'Oldstones', psychological thriller 'M.O.M.', and crime thriller 'The Last Blue Rose'. She will soon appear in psychological thriller feature From The Corner Of My Eye (2023).
