Nicholas has always had an appreciation for the arts, from drawing, painting, sculpting to animation and graffiti. It wasn't until in high school he took a cinema theory class. In that class he was asked how to define film; his answer was, "the combination of all art forms in one." After coming up with that definition he realized this was what he wanted to pursue. After watching, "Good Will Hunting" for the first time, it inspired him to focus more on the characters in his stories. Nicholas wrote, directed and produced the award-winning short film "Ducks" while still at Columbia College Chicago. The huge positive festival response has inspired Nicholas to pursue independent film. Nicholas wants to tell stories that open people's mindsets and give them a new perspective other than what his audience members are used to. Nicholas' newest film "Trattoria" is a project which challenged his skills as a director because of the variables of shooting on 16mm and directing through the Zoom application for reasons stemming from the COVID pandemic. Nicholas graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2021, from the Cinema Arts & Science department with a concentration in screenwriting. Nicholas was born in Bulgaria and adopted by a Greek family in Chicago. From the experience gained by being a part of this unique family joined with the diversity of living in Chicago exposed Nicholas to a great deal of artistic mindsets and creative disciplines; both of which inspire Nicholas to push the boundaries of his art.
