Jota Castellano

Jota Castellano is born in Madrid. Soon after, he moves to Málaga, where he attends school. After completing his high school years in Estepona, he studies Digital Design and graduates in English Philology from the University of Málaga, in 2012. A local agent shows interest in him as a model for fashion and puts him forward for catwalks and commercials. A year later, he moves to Madrid to graduate from a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing and a Master's Degree in Web Development. During this time, he excels as a fashion model and begins getting roles in TV Commercials. This experience, helps him discover his passion for acting and in 2015, he begins attending acting courses. As he masters his abilities as an actor, he gets the attention of casting directors that encourage him to participate in short films and festivals. Feeling the need to have strong foundations for his acting career, he stops working full time as a model and in 2016, he enrols in William Layton's Drama School. While studying the fundamentals of theatre, he continues developing his skills in the film industry, with other courses in cinema schools, in Madrid. In 2017, he lands his first role for television, playing a general for the international period show Queens, a joined production with TVE and the BBC. In that same year, he focuses completely in his acting career. He completes several courses and attends private classes with teachers from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático. From 2018, he will appear in television playing roles for different channels and streaming services. Some of the roles that he plays, offers him the opportunity to learn sword fighting and horse-riding skills. An example of this, is the role he played for the international period show Glow and Darkness, where he fights and army on horseback in the middle of the desert, as a commander for the Army of Jerusalem. In 2020, he is asked to audition for Netflix's The Witcher and gets the role. After shooting this show, he moved to the UK and is now based in London.
