Sanjeev Bisht is an actor and a politician whose career was cut short by the Maoist insurgency in Nepal. He is best known for playing the chief of Police in the psychological thriller, "Maya Namara" where he is in charge of pursuing actor Rajesh Hamal . He was born in the India/Nepal border to Nepalese minister of Agriculture Hon. LP Bisht and Santa Bisht. Coming from a prominent political family he pursued politics with great intrigue, becoming a member of congress, while this would be short-lived as he had to leave the region for his family's security. He has a wife and two children, his son Sohail Bisht is an author and actor. His daughter enjoys creative writing and is pursuing her studies in law.
