Soviet hockey player, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1963). The sports nickname is "San Palych" (Canadians called Ragulin "big Rag"). The number of winners among all hockey players is the number of medals (22) at the ZOI, world and European championships. Player "Chemist" the city of Voskresensk (1957-1962) and Moscow CSKA (1962-1973). He joined CSKA of his own free will, having previously asked for advice from partners in the "Chemist". After some time, Alexander's brothers moved to CSKA. Three-time Olympic champion (1964, 1968, 1972), 10-time world champion (1963-1971, 1973), 9-time European champion (1963-1970, 1973) and the USSR (1963-1966, 1968, 1970-1973), the best defender of the World Cup 1966, a participant in the legendary super series of the USSR - Canada 1972. Second prize-winner of the World Championship1972, third prize-winner of the World Championship 1961. Silver prize-winner of the championships of the USSR 1967, 1969. In the championships of the USSR Ragulin played 427 matches and scored 63 goals. At the World Championships, Europe and the Olympic Games as part of the USSR national team, he played 102 matches, scored 14 goals. He was on the list of 34 best hockey players of the USSR in 1964. He graduated from the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute (1966), a teacher. At the end of his career, he became a trainer at the CSKA junior school, where he worked for four years. Later coached the Novosibirsk SKA. He completed his coaching career in 1986, when he retired from the army. He was engaged in business for some time. In recent years, he participated in work with veterans of domestic hockey - the president of the regional sports public organization "Hockey Veterans". He worked as part of the Presidential Council on Physical Culture and Sports. In 1997, he was among the first to enter the IIHF Hall of Fame. In 2004, he was elected to the Domestic Hockey Hall of Fame. He died in his 64th year of life on the night of November 18, 2004 at the Burdenko hospital. He was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery.
