Prominent Soviet figure skater, champion of the Olympic Games (1976), six-time world champion (1970-1974, 1976) and Europe (1970-1971, 1973-1976), nine-time champion of the USSR (1964-1966, 1969-1971, 1973-1975) in ice dancing (with Ryzhkin in 1964-1966, with Gorshkov from 1969). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1970), Honored Trainer of the RSFSR (1984). He is the author of the books "Choreography in Figure Skating", "Monologue after Applause," "And Music Forever Sounds."
