Joseph Gatzby

Joseph Gatzby aka "Gatzby"; the middle of seven children (all girls), was born on July 30th 1985 in New York, New York. When his parents were on the verge of splitting up his mother decided on relocating to Houston, Texas. He is the son of Ola Adeyinka (Mother), a behavioral teacher's assistant in Houston, Texas and has no relationship with his father. At the time of graduation he didn't have enough credits to graduate high school and was forced to attend Gulf Shores Academy, an alternative school located in the heart of SouthWest Houston. Joseph moved to London, England where he pursued music as a rapper/producer under the name Gatzby. His rise to local fame stemmed from a song he wrote called "Hackney B" which depicted the living conditions and everyday life in Hackney (Dalston Kingsland), a poverty stricken borough in East London. He states that the drug dealers loved the song so much they vowed to protect him at all times.
