Lana Jackson was born and raised in Washington, D.C. to Guyanese immigrants. Lana, who thrives on being challenged creatively, has demonstrated versatility in transitioning to acting from multiple careers in Fashion Design, Art History, and the Performing Arts where she has worked for The John F. Kennedy Center and Ford's Theatre, among others. Ultimately, it was Lana's deep love for storytelling that led her to act. She is an alum of the Black Arts Institute, in partnership with Stella Adler Studio and the Billie Holiday Theatre. She has trained with William Esper Studio in New York and Mornell Studios in Atlanta. To continue perfecting her craft she is in ongoing training with her acting coach Vince Pisani. While studying and performing, she works a Forensic Financial Analyst at The Pentagon. Lana is the co-founder of The Storied Life, a shoppable podcast she produces and hosts that shares the story behind fashion and beauty brands from within communities of color. And as an entrepreneur, she works hand in hand with different brands to create content and media campaigns for her podcast and social media channels. While participating in the 2022 Soho House Fellowship Program, she is developing a six-part docuseries loosely based on her podcast. A child of immigrants and a woman of color, she feels that her representation in entertainment matters deeply in our current cultural moment. Working as a multi-hyphenate creative in various areas, her desire is to be a cultural filter, sparking conversation through her work about the people, ideas, and stories that matter most.
