Tom Wright is a writer and director for theatre and film. He focuses on creating transgressive, but unashamedly entertaining new work, as well dedicating himself to expanding and diversifying the LGBTQ+ cannon. Tom's debut back-to-back plays 'My Dad's Gap Year' and 'Undetectable' premiered in sold-out runs at Park Theatre and King's Head Theatre respectively. The productions received seven Off-West-End Award Nominations between them including Best New Play and Most Promising Playwright. 'Undetectable' returned for a second successful run. Tom's third play 'Very Special Guest Star' was described in The Guardian as a 'thoroughly original play that entertains, provokes and unsettles'. His next project 'I Ain't Dumb' will premiere at the Belgrade Theatre as part of UK City of Culture celebrations in his hometown of Coventry. All four plays are published by Methuen Drama. Stockholm is Tom's debut short film. He is currently under commission by Sky Arts to develop his next short film for broadcast.
