Steven Denton, was born on March 27th, 1985 in Riverside, California before moving to Ava, Missouri with his parents and brother, at the age of 6. As a Junior in high school, he first started to get the itch for acting, performing in a few school productions during his Junior and Senior years. After that, in 2004, he studied theatre that year at College of the Ozarks. Life took him in a new direction, the following year. With his dream of acting set on the shelf, he moved back to Ava, began taking night classes through Drury University, pursuing a degree in Psychology while working full-time as well. In 2009, he graduated from Drury with a B.A. in Psychology. In 2016, through his job, he transferred to Springfield, MO to live and work there. In was in his mind, moving to a bigger area, to eventually take the dream of acting off the shelf and dust it off. It took a while, but along the way he began to love the nightlife of downtown Springfield and all that it had to offer. He was able to meet many people, talented people, that shared common interests at several open mics and venues throughout the area. He has been supporting the local music/comedy/poetry scene in Springfield, since. From 2017 to 2019, Steven had the opportunity to be in a couple of local films, directed by Jason Tucker. In February of 2019, he decided that it was time to get back to class and start working on the craft. He simultaneously, enrolled in classes at Acting For Real, with Jonna Volz, and at Springfield Improv, with Seth White. Under their tutelage and hard work, a world of opportunities started to open up. He took classes, 3 to 4 days a week, for 8 months and began joining groups at the Improv, performing at their weekend shows alongside many talented performers. In December, of 2019, he began working and collaborating with an amazing group of dedicated people at Amigos Barro productions. With that group, he was a part of two Award Winning short films, Botched (2020) and Feel Better, both directed by Tom Baker. At the same time he was working on Botched, he performed in his first stage production since 2004, in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night with Actor's Theatre of Missouri. Steven, is still living and working in Springfield, MO. He has began working with such groups as Hometown Studios and Stingray Films, getting to meet and work with a lot of incredible and talented, local people that love the craft, work hard to make quality films, and are dedicated to growing the industry in the Midwest. "I'm grateful for every opportunity that I've had and will have, and I want to thank everyone that has been a part of the journey, so far. I love you all, and I look forward to all that's to come!"
