Lina, born Carolina Cardoso Rodrigues, 1984 in Germany, is a Portuguese Fado singer and actress. She was educated at the Porto Music Conservatory. IAt 1o years of age her vocal and interpretive abilities took on great prominence when she was the protagonist of Gian Carlo Menotti's opera "Amahal and the Visitors of the Night". Later in her youth, and still in the Porto Opera Circle, she also participated in the operas "Carmen", "L'Elixir d'Amore" and "La Bohéme". In 2005 she portrayed the Portuguese fadista Amália Rodrigues (1920-1999) in the musical "Amália". In 2011, the film "The Consul of Bordeaux" was released, directed by Francisco Manso and João Correa, in which Lina interprets three themes music by Henri Seroka, presenting in one of them a letter of her own. Raül Refree one of the most innovative European producers of the last decade was blown away by Lina's voice, when he saw her sing at Clube de Fado in Lisbon. In 2020 the album "Lina_Raül Refree" - a reinterpretation of the Fado, was released.
