Deb Jyoti Mahato

Deb jyoti Mahato was born on November 29, 1989, in Mughal Sarai (now DDU Nagar) Uttar Pradesh, India. The son of a railway officer, he majored in electronics and communication engineering from Moradabad(u.p.) at Uttar Pradesh Technical University. His ambition towards storytelling then paved his way to his film school entry in Noida. there he made a mobile short film named Bailout (2013) which did excellent in festivals. As his diploma film, Logic (2014), he was chosen as the best film, succeeded by best filmmaking student from the batch. He then entered the space of freelancing with studio editing after direct recruitment from his film school. He made several digital ads and short films during the years 2014 - 2018. In 2018 he opted for volunteering in Egypt which changed his course of action from a post-production professional to a full-time filmmaker. He directed Bonkers (2022) an indie web series in Delhi that is now streaming on MX Player He shifted to Mumbai at the end of 2018 and started his carrier as an assistant director in TVC ads and then gradually shifted towards television serial space. He has done few episodes of Crime alert (Dangal T.V.) as an assistant director & assistant creative. In 2019 as the creative head he has done his next ambitious project Barkha Sarkar starring Deepak Qazir, Aarnaa Sharma, Amit Bimrot & Kritika Pande. The project is due for its digital release. In 2020 he has directed lockdown Vasooli (2020) a short film that was based on COVID -19 affected lockdown scenario in India. He has then co-written the web series named Luv Down (2020) which was released on Hotstar. He has 1 elder sister and 1 elder brother. He is corrently working in Mumbai, Maharashtra
