Safiyyah Shabazz is an Afodescendant actress, dance choreographer, and fashion designer and merchandiser. Shabazz was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the parents of Irene Narzella Nichols-Hamilton, a beautician, and Hurlon Eugene Hamilton, a carpenter. Shabazz is the 10th child of 11 children. Shabazz's early years included being active in multiple sports, several dance arenas, choir, and fine arts. She had an interest to pursue acting. In high school, Shabazz had an offer to train for the Olympics for her exceptional track and field skills; however, she had her first child at 17. With three children at the age of 22 and a single mother, Shabazz focused on her family and placed her ambitions to pursue acting on hold. She was a bartender at a local prestigious country club and taught choreography while enrolled in college. She attended Vatterott College for computer programming. When her children were graduated and out the house, Shabazz moved to Los Angeles, California. In 2003, Safiyyah Shabazz's interest in the mass media entertainment industry resurfaced and she attended Brook College, California for fashion design and merchandise and she obtained an acting agent. Shabazz gained experience in the talent and film industry performing extra work on multiple movie sets including The Fighting Temptations (2003), Rebound (2005), Norbit (2007); and television sets including Boston Legal (2004), The Bernie Mac Show (2005), and Girlfriends (2007); as well as, several other films and television shows. Shabazz is the art director and costume designer at Trustworthy Star Productions and is responsible for the overall visual appearance of the talent, how they communicate visually in each film, and queue them for the set. Her creativity in design and dance is greatly utilized at TWSP. Shabazz finds joy in reading, teaching, dancing, comedy, and traveling. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
