Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Charlotte Trapman-O'Brien and her family relocated to the East Coast to be closer to their dreams. Her cinematographer father and news producing mother always encouraged her to dabble in arts and crafts, and this is where she discovered her love for drawing, sewing, and painting. It wasn't until her pre-teen years that she stumbled upon 'Animal Planet' and became obsessed with animals. At first, she wanted to become a veterinarian, but not having the stomach to deal with sick animals, she pursued a life caring for animals at a zoo. Like most zookeepers, she has undertaken a journey that has allowed her to travel across the country to work at various zoos. Having worked at the Turtle Back Zoo since September 2019, she is fulfilling her dream of working with her favorite animal, the cheetah, as an Ambassador Zookeeper. As an Ambassador Zookeeper, she gets to share her love of animals by presenting them to the public. Still honing her skills at sewing, Charlotte has assembled custom-made masks for her family and co-workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
