Shawn McDonald

Born in Boston, Massachusetts 1979. My Uncle Johnny, who was actually my Godfather, introduced me to a world outside of the South Boston Housing Projects. I would spend every other weekend with Johnny as a kid, we'd stay up late and watch everything from 60's and 70's Horror to Science Fiction and Kung Fu movies. As a teenager, I would go to movies as often as I could afford it, luckily you could sneak into the theater easier back then! One of the most profound moments of my life was seeing "Goodwill Hunting" , I went alone, and even at 17 years old, I couldn't hold back the emotional impact of the film. I believe that was the moment I realized what film can do for people, and I've wanted to make stories ever since, as an Oil Painter, a Tattoo Artist and finally as a Filmmaker. I'm fortunate to have two teenage Sons, who also share a passion for Cinema. My two Directorial short films are "Portrait Of Pearl" (Drama/Dark Comedy 2019) and "Linen" (Horror/Neo Noir/Western 2020) and I'm currently working on my third short film "A Rose In No Mans Land" (WW1/Thriller, Coming Christmas 2020). I Co-Own Devil Red Films, a production company in Northern Colorado, with Cinematographer/Producer Caleb Jon.
