Olga Blagodatskikh

Olga Blagodatskikh is an actress and voice over artist of great versatility. She is known for her genuine presentation of Shakespeare's roles. Her acting style is intelligent and playful. Her articulate energetic deep voice brought her the parts in War and Peace Radio Marathon and numerous audio books. Olga was born in Moscow in 1971. Her first encounter with acting happened when at the age of 11 she had the privilege to play a minor part in a top-listed film, Scarecrow Chuchelo (1984), learning from the acclaimed Russian director Rolan Bykov and working alongside the iconic actor Yuriy Nikulin. During the turbulence of the USSR collapse, Olga didn't have an opportunity to pursue an acting career and turned to teaching. Having had from a young age a strong devotion to storytelling and acting she used those skills to plunge her young learners into the imaginary situation of fairy tales to teach them about the real world. Returning to performing arts was a mature decision. It started through the dancing theatre at Saraswati Indian Dance Studio. Passion to classical English theatre brought her to RADA to learn from the best in the industry. She did a number of courses concentrating chiefly on Shakespeare theatre and taking part in studio productions of King John and As You Like It. Olga also obtained a diploma in voice over from Moscow School of Radio and Television. Her voice over credits include War and Peace reading marathon on one of the major Russian TV-Radio channels Kultura (Culture) and numerous audio books recorded for one of the biggest Russia's publishing houses EKSMO. Olga is a founder of Shakespeare Play Reading Club in partnership with The Midas theatre. Once the COVID-19 lock-down started, she transferred the project online casting international actors from the UK, the USA, Spain, Russia and India. The boost of the online theatre during the lock-down gave Olga the opportunity to participate in productions of Richard II by 60 Hour Shakespeare and All's Well That Ends Well by The Show Must Go Online.
