Evgeniya Grygorovych

Ukrainian director, Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. She was born in Dubno, studied pedagogy and later enrolled in the State Technical School of Cinematography in Odesa. A year after graduating from the film school, Hryhorovych became an assistant director to Heorhii Stabovyi on the Exhibit from Panopticon (1929); later, she also collaborated with him on his next feature. From 1943 she worked at the Kyiv Film Studio of Popular Science Films. She is the author and director of more than 50 films of various genres, mostly of popular science pieces, but also film essays and portraits.
