Luchnikov's most wildly recognized role may be "Faust" in "Faust" (2008), but his portrayal of "Johnny" in "The Color of Truth is Grey", according to critics is brilliant, spectacular and epic. As an actor, Luchnikov has many diverse experiences, he has appeared in several plays and films. Luchnikov was born in Moscow on January 26, 1976. He was raised by a strict Russian mother and his grandmother, without ever knowing his father. At the age of nine, his parents decided to send him away to Saint Petersburg, where he was accepted into the world-famous Imperial Theater School, where so many great dancers were trained - Nijinsky, Nureyev, Baryshnikov, Anna Pavlova, among many others. Luchnikov fell in love with art and the theater. He went on to have a successful career as a dancer, performing with a renowned company directed by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov. Coincidentally, the company had two different studios: one of which was a centuries-old acting school. And Luchnikov quickly realized that he wanted to become an actor. He fearlessly approached the director and arranged for an audition. After earning his acting diploma, Ross auditioned for Yuri Lyubimov, founder of the legendary "Taganka Theatre" company in Moscow, where Luchnikov was cast in numerous plays. He performed leading roles in Goethe's "Faust", Brecht's "The Good Person of Szechwan", Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita", Sophocles's "Electra", Kafka's "The Castle", Pasternak's "Doctor Zhivago", "Before and After" a play about the Russian Silver Age poetry. Luchnikov left the famed theater for Hollywood, where he was cast in a number of films such as "Missing Vivian", "Pawnshop Express" and others. After taking on a diverse range of roles, he came to the realization that he wanted to make his own films. He had something important to say and stories to be told. So, in 2016, Luchnikov wrote a very personal script: 'The Color of Truth is Grey', which went into production in 2016. By 2020 the trailer for his first feature-length film was submitted to major film festivals throughout the world and selected by many festivals for its official programs. Ross is already working on his new film, for which he wrote a script called 'Draw My Portrait', set to go into production in 2020. His other film projects include 'Rock Star, a Poet and la Femme Fatale', 'Ivy in Warhol-land' starring Ivy Nicholson, 'Los Angeles and I' Luchnikov is an actor-director whose work exhibits a wide array of literary and philosophical influences, contributing to the unique style of his screenwriting and cinematography.
