Drew Paton

Drew Paton is an actor, born and raised in New York's Hudson Valley, where he now lives with his wife and children. His path has wound through punk rock and parenthood, vegetable gardening and antiracist organizing, slam poetry and parish ministry, the suburbs of NYC and the barrios of Nicaragua, and back again. In all these seasons and settings, performance has played a central role. From his debut appearance as "the onion" (in a costume constructed largely from his mother's pantyhose) in his kindergarten class play, to his recent Off-Broadway debut in Lilies, or the Revival of a Romantic Drama, Drew has always found his way onto the stage and in front of the camera. In addition to performing in more conventional settings, Drew has performed improv alongside people experiencing homelessness with Theatre of the Oppressed NYC; produced and performed original material with children in remote Central American communities as part of a grassroots campaign for sexual and reproductive health; and acted in mock trials and interviews designed to train lawyers at the NYS Defenders Association. In diverse settings and with eclectic partners, Drew has made a life of truth-seeking and storytelling.
