Sandy Thomson

Sandy Thomson is a published writer and critic's award nominated director based in Scotland. Her extensive career began in theatre, where she set up and led her company, Poorboy, for 20 years, touring domestically and internationally. She has written for and directed theatre and film, alternative reality games as well as audio and visual journeys. She is the recipient of a Playwright Studio Scotland Award as well as Scotland's curated program Write4Film, exclusively created to promote established writers from disciplines outside of film that are now writing screenplays. She was selected for the 2020 New York Women In Film & Televsion 'The Writers Lab' supported by Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey. Her debut short films 'Night Shift' 'Silver Star' and 'Crybaby Hill' were all international collaborations between artists in Scotland and the USA.
