Holly Marie Boulind - born 8 December 1985 in England and grew up along the Durban coast of South Africa. Internationally accomplished, the multi-talented artist holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from AFDA Johannesburg, (The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance). Boulind began her career performing on the Durban stages and travelling around doing educational theatre for The Playhouse Company. In 2008, Boulind was awarded Best Emerging Actress at the Durban Theatre Fools Awards and went on to become an entertainer & master of ceremonies on the maiden voyages of the (then) two largest cruise ships in the world (Royal Caribbean's "Allure of the Seas" and "Oasis of the Seas"). In November 2010 Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (Officially branded Royal Caribbean Group as of Sep 2020) partnered with the established DreamWorks bringing their characters; live performances; parades and more to sail the seas. In 2011, Boulind brought her skills to this partnership, first as a performer and later as an Installer & Artist ensuring the success of their performances. The two successful companies announced the conclusion of their partnership would cease as of April 2019. In addition to working with such reputable companies, Boulind also added her skills to other well established organizations. In 2015, Boulind led the creative team with the popular television game show Big Brother Mzansi (South Africa) as the Task Producer in charge of creating the challenges and games, adding to the entertainment value of this in-demand reality TV series. This was not the first time that Boulind had been involved with Big Brother. She had previously assisted in designing and creating the house for Big Brother Angola in 2014. The design which can be seen in the various photographs that are still making the rounds today. Also in 2015, Boulind was hired as an Art Director for the reality TV show - "1s and 2s Master of Spin" which is a nationwide search for South Africa's top music DJs and was broadcast on the official SABC Network. Specializing in Set Design; Costuming and props, Boulind designed a flight case for the DJ equipment that would offer both aesthetic value to the set as well as be functional and safe. Something that was a "game changer" as this television show was filmed across the nation and made travelling with the equipment smooth and efficient. In 2017, Boulind, along with her wife Kathi Henriksen, entered the Johannesburg 48 Hour Film Project creating an award winning short film titled "Reality" which is available online for viewing. Later, the couple would enter the competition again in 2020, making global headlines for their innovative and unusual methods. Boulind is known for offering creative insight to the aesthetics of production shows across all platforms including set design, costumes and props - exploring these expertise in her position at the entertainment studios in Miami for Royal Caribbean Productions.
